«Golf courses and the best cuisine on Costa del Sol»
Benahavís is a cosy village in the hills, boasting one of the most interesting culinary traditions on Costa del Sol. It is an ideal place to enjoy nature and stay in a luxury residence perfectly blended with the environment, or to play golf in one of the many golf courses in the area.
The village emerged in Arab times, when the region belonged to the Berber tribe Banu Habis (meaning ‘sons of the abyss’), who have lent their name to it.
Sightseeing in Benahavís must include the Castle of Montemayor, the watchtowers built during the Nasrid rule of Granada – Daidín, Leonera, and others – and the small Parish Church of Virgen del Rosario (eighteenth century). However, the essence of the town, in the pure style of Andalusian white villages, can be captured by walking down its narrow streets.
